AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM STATE ATTORNEY KATHERINE FERNANDEZ RUNDLE ON TROPICAL STORM ETA
November 8, 2020
Greetings ladies and gentlemen,
I am continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Eta and weather conditions very closely.
For tomorrow, November 9:
Miami-Dade County Public Schools have canceled all classes, both online and in-person, for tomorrow and Broward County Public Schools have canceled in-person classes only; they will be holding virtual classes.
Therefore, I am also closing our Offices tomorrow. Only critical staff will be working, e.g. those covering Bond Hearings, Moves and a few other individuals. Employees will be granted Administrative Leave for the day. Please be mindful that the buildings will not let employees into the buildings, unless you are a member of the critical staff.
To aid in transporting critical staff during storm and hurricane situations, the Chief of our Criminal Investigations Division, Emiliano Tamayo, has volunteered the assistance of Investigators to effectuate such transportation for critical staff as necessary. Calls for such assistance should be made directly to him at (786) 517-7035 and Chief Tamayo will coordinate the necessary staff and the appropriate police-identified vehicles.
I urge you to continue to keep in contact with your supervisors and monitor your emails, our social media and our website www.miamisao.com for updates regarding whether our office will be open on Tuesday.
Please make sure you and your loved ones are adequately prepared for this tropical storm/hurricane.
Be well and stay safe.
State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle
