State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and our entire SAO team recognize December 10 as Human Rights Day.

On this day in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), a document that outlines the rights everyone is entitled to as human beings regardless of “race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status”.

“Recover Better – Stand Up for Human Rights” is this year’s theme, relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to “build back better” by making Human Rights a central focus to recovery efforts.
