Statement from State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle regarding Hurricane Irma:

“After conferring with the Miami-Dade Courts, Miami-Dade County and Miami-Dade County Public Schools, I have decided to close the office on Thursday and Friday of this week in order to give all of you ample time to prepare for this dangerous storm. We hope to be open for business on Monday, but I urge you to keep in contact with your supervisors and monitor your emails, our social media (Facebook and Twitter), as well as our Website www.miamisao.com for periodic updates.

For those of you who have not been through a hurricane or tropical storm before, I urge you to take all warnings and preparations seriously.

I have authorized Administrative Leave for this Thursday and Friday.

Please continue to pay close attention to news reports, look for possible contacts from your office supervisors, or call our hotline at (305) 547-0533 for updates concerning any information affecting our office.

I am hopeful that you, your family and friends, and our community as a whole, will be protected and spared the potential wrath of the approaching storm.”
